Forward progress was stopped on a brush fire Sunday evening in the 1000 block of US-395 in Douglas County, according to East Fork Fire incident command. The fire was around a quarter of an acre and is believed to have been caused by a power line spark.
A Carson City Fire Department brush crew had been called up for mutual assistance but East Fork Fire incident command canceled the request.
The brush fire was reported at 5:25 p.m. near the Wa She Shu Travel Plaza, according to dispatch. US-395 southbound near the fire was being closed by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, according to radio traffic.
Responding firefighters had been at a structure fire earlier, reported at 3:08 p.m. at 465 Nature’s Edge in the Gardnerville Ranchos area.
