The Carson High School/Douglas High School Rivalry dates back decades and was voted the best in Nevada.
In the contest being held by USA Today for the best rivalry in the country, The Carson/Douglas received 86% of the vote blowing away the competition while the Moapa Valley/Virgin Valley rivalry got 11% for second place, and the Bishop Gorman/Palo Verde rivalry finished third with just 3% of the vote.
The rivalry winners around the nation from this round will now move on to the four regional competitions which will end on December 12th. Carson/Douglas will be in the Western Regional. All of the fans for Carson/Douglas should flock to www.usatodayhss.com to vote for the rivalry. If the Carson/Douglas rivalry wins it all by becoming the National Champion, both athletic departments will receive $10,000.
