A 74-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday for suspicion of grand larceny, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
John Vincent Fisher was taken into custody at 10:21 a.m. in the 300 block of South Stewart Street. According to the arrest report, a deputy spoke with a victim who stated she was gambling at a casino in the 500 block of North Carson Street and won a $1,200 jackpot.
She stated the machine gave her a ticket for $15 and thought it would not print the rest of the jackpot. The victim went to customer service to let them know the ticket did not print, the arrest report states.

He stated he looked around and no one was there and so he took it. He stated he cashed the ticket for $1,185 and went to a grocery store where he said he sent his daughter some money for a dental procedure, according to the arrest report.
He said he bought a few things and went home. He gave the deputy $890 in various money denominations and stated he was more than happy to pay the jackpot back if he could go to the bank. Bail: $25,000.
