Carson City, NV – Attack On Hunger successfully launched its first major community event, Operation: Veteran’s Day, on November 11, 2025, with the goal of feeding 1,000 veterans and community members.
Over the course of six hours, attendees enjoyed an extensive menu featuring charcuterie cups, breakfast burritos, taqueria-style tacos, tamales, nacho stations, homemade desserts, and paletas from La Tapatia. More than 120 tamales, 300 tacos, and countless burritos and bowls were served.
Meals were not only shared on-site—volunteers delivered food to local fire stations, senior living centers, and supporting businesses.
In addition to hot meals, the event highlighted community resources and veteran support services. Carson Tahoe Mallory Center provided behavioral health information, while Western Nevada College offered education program guidance.
Veteran-owned craft vendors, local artisans, and service providers—including Mountain Massage & Movement—donated raffle prizes ranging from massage packages to a king suite stay at Gold Dust West and memberships to local fitness academies.
The spirit of giving continued beyond event day. Inspired attendees immediately began donating hygiene products, blankets, and comforters for Nation’s Finest, supporting veterans experiencing housing insecurity.
Monetary and item donations are still being requested by local organizations during this cold holiday season. If you would like to donate or schedule a pick up for items to be collected and distributed, please reach out via our website or email.
Attack On Hunger continues to collaborate closely with The Lady Tamales, Healthy Communities Coalition and Friends In Service Helping (FISH), all who played vital roles in making the event possible.
“The atmosphere was electric with community spirit,” said event organizers. “People are already asking if we’ll be back next year – and the answer is absolutely YES.”
