The Carson City School District’s Nutrition Services was thrilled to announce a generous donation of $600 from a compassionate Carson City woman to help eliminate the district’s negative lunch balance for students across the district.

Asking to only be named as Heather G., her heartfelt contribution will provide relief to families and ensure every child has access to school meals without worry.

“We are incredibly grateful for this kind and thoughtful gesture,” said Elizabeth Martinez, director of Nutrition Services for the Carson City School District. “This donation will directly impact our students, giving them one less barrier to focus on learning and growing.”

Throughout the years, there have been several community partners who have stepped up and helped eliminate negative school lunch balances including Carson City Toyota, the Las Vegas Raiders and many other individuals to name a few.

“Heather’s donation will help clear many outstanding balances, ensuring all students can receive meals without stigma or interruption,” Martinez continued. “With Heather’s generous example, Nutrition Services hopes to ‘make kindness contagious’ and motivate other community members and businesses to make similar contributions.”
