The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified a Fallon man who died in a two-vehicle crash Nov. 1 on US-50 between Silver Springs and Stagecoach.

Jeffrey De Dual, 70, from Fallon, died from injuries Nov. 8, after being taken to a local hospital. The crash was reported at around 3 a.m. Nov. 1 at Lyon County Mile Marker 25.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2016 Ford Focus hatchback was traveling eastbound on US-50 approaching Lyon County mile marker 25 in the right lane, according to NHP. A 2023 Chevrolet Traverse, driven by Jeffrey De Dual, was traveling eastbound on US-50 in the right lane in front of the Ford Focus.

According to NHP, the driver of the Ford Focus failed to slow and crashed into the rear of the Chevrolet. Both vehicles then overturned. The Nevada Highway Patrol Major Incident Reconstruction Team is investigating this crash.
