Carson High School senior Gloria Dooley is this week’s Senior Spotlight, and for good reason. Gloria has earned a reputation as one of Carson High’s most well-rounded students, excelling in the classroom, in athletics, and through her leadership in the community.
Gloria plans to stay close to home after graduation, looking at colleges in the Western region, including the University of Nevada, Reno, Oregon State University, University of Colorado Boulder or the University of Utah. She is going to strive to earn her Master’s in Business, with the plans of becoming a Financial Advisor.

A top scholar at Carson High, Gloria’s schedule is packed with Advanced Placement (AP) classes and Career Technical Agricultural Education courses. Her hard work has earned her the AP Scholar with Distinction Award and a Certificate of Skill Attainment in Animal Science. She’s particularly passionate about STEM and agricultural sciences, areas that combine her love of learning with her interest in sustainability.
When she’s not studying, you’ll likely find Gloria competing as a three-sport varsity athlete in swimming, soccer and skiing. She’s been named to the Nevada All-State Academic Team multiple times and served as captain of both the swim and soccer teams. Her coaches and teammates describe her as hardworking, upbeat and always ready to lend a hand.

Gloria’s leadership also shines through her involvement in Future Farmers of America (FFA). She’s held several officer roles with Capitol FFA, including Secretary (2023–2024), Vice President (2024–2025) and now President (2025–2026). She’s competed at the state level three times, earned her Greenhand, Chapter and State FFA Degrees. She’s also attended four FFA Winter Leadership Conferences. Gloria’s enthusiasm for agricultural education has made her a mentor and role model for younger members.
Whether she’s leading her team, excelling in academics or representing Carson High in FFA, Gloria Dooley is the kind of student who makes a lasting impact wherever she goes. Her dedication, kindness and drive to succeed are an inspiration to everyone around her.
Congratulations, Gloria, on being this week’s Senior Spotlight.
