Secret Witness is offering a $250 cash reward for information about the persons responsible for starting the approximately 42-acre Goni Fire north of Carson City on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, around 12:40 pm.
The Carson City Fire Department, along with the Sheriff’s Office responded to a brush fire in the area of the Goni Pit, north of Carson City. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the fire was started by target shooting.
Witnesses in the area stated they saw a black SUV leaving the area around the time the fire started.
