The Comfort House, a trauma-informed foster care home in Lyon County, is inviting the community to raise their voices (and maybe their nerves) at Sink or Sing, a lively karaoke competition fundraiser happening Saturday, November 8 at 6:00 p.m. at Pipers Opera House in Virginia City. Doors open at 5pm.

Unlike a typical karaoke night, Sink or Sing adds a playful twist: contestants are challenged to sing songs randomly picked from the 1950s through 2025 — country, pop, rock, ballads or old-school classics. The audience holds the power to vote for their favorite performers, deciding who sinks and who sings their way to the top.

“This event is pure good times,” said Gina Armstrong, Executive Director of The Comfort House. “It’s about bringing people together through laughter, courage, and creativity — all while raising vital funds to support foster youth in rural Nevada.”

Audience members can expect great entertainment, refreshments, insane raffle prizes including a brand new 5-piece Pearl drum set, and a chance to be part of a unique community experience. Proceeds from the event will directly support The Comfort House’s enrichment programs, including Learning for Life field trips, everyday wishes and trauma-informed care for local foster youth.

Tickets are available for $13 online or $20 at the door. No Host Bar while supplies last!
