By Dan Neverett — The mystique, culture, and history of the world-famous desert gathering, Burning Man, will be explored by local expert and long-time attendee Dennis Little at the Leisure Hour Club’s upcoming dinner meeting on Thursday, Oct. 16. Little will share his personal experiences from the internationally recognized “City of Dust” and answer questions from club members.

Dennis Little is a mining engineer by trade who came to Northern Nevada in 1978. A dedicated community volunteer, he has served on the board of trustees for the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center for 30 years, held multiple leadership roles for the organization, and served two terms as president of the Douglas County Historical Society. In 2021, the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce recognized his exceptional work and commitment to the community by naming him Citizen of the Year.

“Burning Man is so much more than a festival — it’s a vibrant experiment in community and self-expression,” said Dennis Little. “I’m thrilled to share my journey and reveal the stories behind the art, the chaos, and the incredible spirit of the playa with my friends and neighbors.”

Reservations for the dinner meeting are required by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9. To reserve a spot, please call 775.302.8820 or email lhcreservations@gmail.com. New members are welcome to join the club for annual dues of $25.
