Long-time Nevadans and Carson City residents Bob and Liz Moore will be competing for the title of “America’s Favorite Couple.” Carson City is an integral part of the couple’s love story as they met while working at the North Carson Wendy’s restaurant together and were married at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
They moved away for a decade while Bob served in the United States Air Force, living both in Nebraska and Japan, before returning to Carson City in 1992 where they’ve resided ever since.
Bob (and the couple’s three kids) graduated from Carson High School while Liz was a graduate of Gerlach High School north of Reno. Bob and Liz are also alumni of both Western Nevada College and the University of Nevada, Reno, as well as retirees from Nevada State government.
Last year the couple started a small publishing company called Two Moore Books, LLC, and which they run together while writing full-time as authors Cassidy Carson and JT Hume. They also co-host two podcasts: the award-winning “CC & JT Amateur Hour” and the “Nevada Author Network” in collaboration with the Sierra Arts Foundation. Competing in this contest is another of their fun “retirement adventures” together!

The first round of this competition runs from July 6-16, 2026. Adults over 18 years of age may cast one free vote per 24-hour period, but can increase their voting power by donating. Proceeds go to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana.
