UPDATE 9:42AM: The Carson City Landfill is currently closed until further notice due to the semi tractor-trailer rollover on the corner of Highway 50 and Flint Drive.

Carson City Public Works advises people to avoid the area to allow emergency crews a chance to clear the area. The cleanup is expected to take several hours and apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. Public Works will advise when the landfill is back open.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol responded Thursday morning to a large semi tractor-trailer that tipped over on US-50 eastbound in the area of Flint Drive near the Carson City landfill.
The incident happened shortly before 8 a.m. The driver was not seriously injured and was out and walking around. First responders on scene report gas and liquids leaking from the semi.
Motorists can expect traffic delays.
