Carson City area casinos saw around a 3 percent increase in gaming revenue for the month of August, though statewide figures were down according to figures released Friday by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Carson City area casinos, which include those in Minden, Gardnerville and all areas of Douglas County except for Stateline, took in a gaming “win” of $9,023,314 for August, compared to $8,763,685 in August 2013. The increase comes out to 2.96 percent.

Statewide, Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $920,291,644 for the month or a 3.66 decrease compared to August 2013. For the fiscal year, July 1, 2014 through August 31, 2014, gaming win has decreased 1.53 percent.

Lake Tahoe at Stateline saw the biggest increase in gaming revenue, 32.64 percent over August 2013 figures. Gaming “win” for south shore amounted to $28,419,413.
