The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reports that Michael Jacoboni was located on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, after a public request for assistance.
DCSO Deputies received a tip that a subject matching Jacoboni’s description was walking on the dirt portion of Vicki Lane, in Minden, Nevada.
The individual was, in fact, Jacoboni, and when deputies attempted to arrest him, he shot himself once in the head. Jacoboni had stolen a handgun from his father the day before, when he cut his ankle monitor off.
Lifesaving efforts were immediately started by deputies, and Jacoboni was flown by helicopter to Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nevada. Jacoboni succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced deceased at Renown.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 18-year-old Michael Jacoboni, who is wanted for probation violations on felony charges for attempted sexual assault and burglary.
Jacoboni is the subject of a nationwide warrant with bail set at $50,000 cash/bond. He was last seen in the Johnson Lane area of Minden, Nev. and is currently considered a fugitive.
