— A 43-year-old Salias, Calif. man was arrested in the 3300 block of Highway 50 E. for felony drug possession after failing to stop at a stop sign near Airport and Woodside.
Deputies stopped the vehicle at the nearby grocery store and noted that the man was “exhibiting unusual behavior.” They said he “appeared visibly nervous, his hands were shaking noticeably, and his speech was hesitant and erratic.”
Deputies asked if they could search his vehicle, and he said no. However, the reporting party stated they observed a white powdery substance in the middle compartment under the man’s car stereo.
The reporting deputy said they asked the man if they could get a better look at the white powder and asked what it was.
According to the report, the man “reached down, wiped his hands through it, and said it’s probably a crushed-up pill, then stated, ‘It’s not meth.’” The reporting deputy said the man then said they could search his vehicle.
The powder returned with inconclusive results on the preliminary narcotics test, but the reporting deputy said as they further searched the vehicle, they located “multiple small crystalline shards” in the center console, which they stated they recognized as meth. They found more of the shards throughout the vehicle as they continued their search, most of which were under the driver’s seat or in the center console.
The shards were tested with a presumptive positive result for methamphetamine.
The man was taken into custody, and during a search of his person, a small shard of presumed methamphetamine was located in his sweater pocket, according to the report.

— A 43-year-old Carson City woman and a 35-year-old Carson City man were arrested in the area of N. Roop and E. Park Streets Thursday night for felony drug possession, paraphernalia, and warrant charges.
According to the arrest report, deputies observed a vehicle driving on N. Roop Street without a license plate or moving permit. They stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver (the man) and the passenger (the woman).
Dispatch advised the woman had a warrant for her arrest that had been issued out of Carson City Justice Court for violating her suspended sentence on August 4, 2025, with a $1,000 cash-only bail.
An unnamed Deputy K9 was dispatched to the scene, who conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle, resulting in a positive alert for the presence of drug odor.
Deputies searched the vehicle and located a small, clear bag with presumed methamphetamine inside, located in the pink purse on the passenger seat. Deputies stated that they “barely touched” the purse, and the baggie fell out.
Deputies spoke to the woman, who denied the baggie was hers. They spoke to the man, who also denied the baggie was his and stated it couldn’t be his because it was on the passenger seat.
Deputies continued searching the vehicle and located a glass pipe with burn marks and a white crystalline residue “stuffed” between the armrest of the driver’s seat. Deputies asked the man if the pipe belonged to him, to which he “looked away and ignored [the question],” according to the report.
Douglas County Sheriff’s Office advised the man is on DAS through them and asked for a hold to be placed on him with a bail amount of $3,000 cash only.
Deputies took the two individuals into custody on the associated charges and were released to jail staff without incident.
Bail for the woman: $5,137; $1,000 cash only
