Everyone loves a parade!

Every year Nevada does something completely unique in the United States. Nevada celebrates it’s date of statehood with a huge 3 hour parade right through the middle of beautiful historic downtown Carson City. The NV Day Parade averages 200 entries from all over Nevada with antique cars & motorcycles, cowboys on horses, Burning Man & Gunfighters shooting in sequences, Marching Bands and tons more!

A local Carson City video production company is raising money to broadcast the NV Day Parade on the internet via LIVE Streaming. The owner of We Shoot Video, Keith Barnett says “Last year we did it with a couple of guys with cameras standing on the side of the road with pieced together, borrowed equipment, and it was ok. But this year we want to scale it up and do it right, and to do this, we have set up a project on Kickstarter.com to raise money for the equipment we need.” This equipment is specific to the broadcast and not what Barnett normally uses for his video production company. You can watch the 8 ½ minute synopsis of last year’s parade on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVgBIjVlz3A.

Broadcasting the parade live will enable the folks in Nevada, and the rest of the country who can’t come to Carson City to watch the parade live on the internet. The broadcast will be on NevadaDay.com and WeShootVideo.net websites. “We streamed it last year on Ustream and that was free for the broadcasting, but this year we want to promote the parade and Nevada businesses, so if we get enough advertisers to pay for it, we will use a genre that allows advertising which Ustream does not. Those platforms charge per viewer hour so there’s some more money we need to raise.” He said. “We are hoping to find a big sponsor to host the broadcast too.”

The equipment needed will run around $3500.00 at the minimum. If you are interested in finding out more about the project, visit http://kck.st/dBKQMh & watch the video, read the copy, and then you can pledge anything beginning with just one buck. “We could sure use your help” Barnett says “I love the uniqueness of the Nevada Day Festivities and the Parade, and see it as a great way to promote this great state to the rest of the country.” Barnett plans to broadcast the parade and other NV Day activities every year, and help the NV Day Festivities grow and flourish.

If you would like to advertise your business during the broadcast, please contact Keith Barnett at Keith@weshootvideo.net or call 775-297-4125. He is also looking for volunteers to crew the broadcast.
