In celebration of National Public Lands Day, Bee City USA #76, in partnership with Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Department and the Foundation for Carson City Parks & Recreation, invites Carson City residents to help plant a native wildflower pollinator garden at Ronald D. Wilson Memorial Park.
Register today and be a part of this community project on Saturday, September 26, at 10:00 a.m. at Ronald D. Wilson Memorial Park, 331 Mark Way (corner of James Drive and Mark Way).
Participants should bring water and come dressed for planting – closed-toe shoes, long pants, and a hat are recommended. Tools and materials will be provided. Get your hands dirty and participate in the community garden project!
In 2018, Carson City became the 76th Bee City USA affiliate in the nation and the first in the state – setting an example for the rest of Nevada to choose to promote pollinator populations, too. Pollinators are essential in our environment. In fact, one out of every three bites of food is made possible due to a pollinator! Bee City #76 works to expand pollinator habitat in our community and to educate the public about the value of pollinators.
