A 27-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of misdemeanor resisting a public officer and probation violation following an incident at a convenience store in which he was employed, intoxicated and reportedly causing a disturbance, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Deputies responded at 7:56 p.m. to a convenience store in the 3000 block of North Roop Street for an intoxicated man who was threatening to fight individuals at the business, the report states. Deputies had responded to the location earlier, however store staff advised they had found the man, a store employee, a ride home and didn’t request any further action on the previous called.
A deputy met with store staff who advised the man was in the back room. The deputy located the man sitting in a chair. He was advised he needed to leave. The man refused to get up and placed both his hands in the front pocket of his sweater. The deputy told the man to take his hands out of his pocket. The man, however, placed his hands further into the pocket and was verbally combative, the arrest report states.
Due to the man’s behavior and the small room he was in, the deputy grabbed and controlled the man’s hands as he kept trying to put them in his pocket, the report states. As the deputy was escorting him to the front counter of the store, the man pulled away several times and shoved his right shoulder into the deputy. At this point the deputy redirected the man to the ground to secure him in handcuffs.
Once the man was on the ground, he continued to resist and refused to give his hands up. Three deputies were able to get the man’s hands behind his back, where he was handcuffed. A deputy located two alcoholic shooters on the man’s person that matched the same size and brand of the alcoholic shooters displayed at the front of the store, the report states.
The man was escorted to a patrol vehicle. During the escort, the man gave resistance, pulling away and refused to get into the vehicle. Another officer assisted to lift the man safely into the vehicle, the report states.
A deputy spoke with store staff and asked if they wanted to press charges for stealing the alcoholic shooters. Staff advised no and declined to fill out a statement, the report states.
The man was checked for wants and warrants through dispatch. Dispatch advised the man was on parole and probation through the state. The deputy asked dispatch to contact parole and probation to advise them that he was arrested for obstruction/resisting and possibly disorderly conduct.
Because of the man’s perceived intoxication level, he was taken to the hospital for medical clearance and then to jail. No bail hold in lieu of hearing.

— A 54-year-old Reno woman was arrested Tuesday at Highway 50 and Airport Road for two misdemeanor bench warrants out of Reno Justice Court and Sparks Municipal Court. Bail: $3,750.
— A 75-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for misdemeanor trespass and petit larceny. According to the booking report, deputies were called to a store in the 3700 block of South Carson Street for a larceny. A deputy made contact with the reporting party (store team leader) who stated the man had been in and out of the store over the past three days and steals items each time.
The store team leader was unaware of the suspect’s name, however they had pictures and video surveillance of the man entering and leaving the store with items not paid for. The team leader advised they wanted to press charges for trespassing and petit larceny.
At around 12:55 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop on the man, in which dispatch advised was the suspect vehicle in the larceny incident. The deputy positively identified the man from the store’s photos and arrested him for suspicion of petit larceny and trespass. Bail: $887.
— A 52-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday for suspicion of violation of a temporary protection order, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report. At around 3:30 p.m. a man met with a CCSO deputy and advised he had a temporary protection order against the woman. He said she has been calling him, using an unknown phone, where he hears a voice from the woman who he had the protection order placed against.
A deputy went to the address and contacted the woman and read her Miranda warning. She advised she had contacted the man over the phone, showing the deputy the phone call between them. She stated she knew about the temporary protection order, however needed to contact him regarding money. She was arrested for the TPO violation. Bail: $3,000.
— A 30-year-old Sun Valley woman was brought from Storey County Carson City Jail and booked Monday for a warrant alleging violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $1,000 cash.
— A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant out of Lyon County. He was also booked for failure to display current vehicle registration. His vehicle registration expired in April 2025. Bail: $950.
— A 29-year-old Sparks woman was booked Monday into Carson City Jail for a misdemeanor warrant alleging violation of suspended sentence and failure to appear. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 43-year-old man was arrested Monday for a misdemeanor warrant alleging destroying property $25 to $250. Bail: $2,500.
A 29-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday for a misdemeanor outside agency warrant issued out of Dayton Township court. Bail: $850.
