The Carson City School District hosted an Ice Cream Social and Playtime for all enrolled Pre-K and Early Childhood students and families Thursday evening, Aug. 28, at the Carson City Children’s Museum.
More than 60 families attended the event, which combined sweet treats, hands-on museum exploration and an opportunity to learn more about the district’s early childhood programs.
Students enjoyed ice cream and playtime throughout the museum while parents and guardians participated in a short informational meeting.

District staff shared details about upcoming events, including Second Saturdays Storytime and other family engagement opportunities designed to support student learning and community connection.
“This event was a wonderful way to bring our Pre-K families together and set the tone for a great school year,” said Dr. Christine Lenox, director of Student Support Services at the Carson City School District. “It gave children a chance to play, learn and make friends, while parents learned about the resources and support available through our programs.”

The Carson City School District extends its thanks to the Carson City Children’s Museum for hosting the event and supporting early learning in the community as well as Food Maxx for contributing the ice cream and raffle prizes (backpacks).
