The Ron Wood Family Resource Center is proud to announce a generous winter coat donation from Ridezilla Carson City. Dedicated to supporting families in crisis and children who have experienced abuse or neglect, Ridezilla Carson City continues to strengthen its commitment to the capital city community and surrounding areas.
Ben Powning, General Manager of Ridezilla Carson City, shared:
“The staff and ownership of Ridezilla Carson City deeply appreciate the patrons who have contributed to our success. We want to give back to those who could use a helping hand during the holiday season. On behalf of Ridezilla Carson City, we wish everyone in Carson City and the surrounding area a Merry Christmas.”
As winter sets in and temperatures drop, Ridezilla Carson City has partnered with the Ron Wood Family Resource Center to provide warmth and comfort to those in need. The company has donated 60 winter coats this year to the Center for distribution and 48 coats the previous year, ensuring families are better prepared for the cold months ahead.
Scott Morgan, Executive Director of the Ron Wood Family Resource Center, emphasized the importance of this support:
“As temperatures fall, we are seeing increasing demand for food and winter clothing. Some families are caught off guard, but thanks to the generosity of Ridezilla Carson City and our community partners — including the Campagni Auto Group — we can meet these challenges together. Every donation, large or small, makes a real difference.”
Growing Need in Northern Nevada
The demand for assistance continues to rise. In 2024 alone, the Center:
- Assisted 55,388 individuals with basic needs
- Supported 156 Nevada foster youth
- Helped 656 children living in abusive or neglectful environments
Most services are provided free of charge, and every gift helps sustain programs that bring comfort, dignity, and hope to families who have fallen through society’s safety net.
How Donations Make a Difference
- $25 provides food for a struggling family
- $200 funds pest control for a child living in unsafe conditions
- $500 helps a foster child obtain a driver’s license to pursue work or education
- $1,000+ provides a bed and bedding for a child who currently sleeps without them
- Urgent Need: A utility van valued at $78,000 to ensure food pickups and center operations continue without interruption
