KNVC GM, Steve Funk, is pleased to announce the appointment of Brad Williams as the new Music Director for the station. Brad was formerly a regular disc jockey with the “Brad Again” Jazz Fusion program on Thursday afternoons.

After several years in the disc jockey chair, Brad wanted to find other ways to support the community radio station.

“Brad has great skills, energy and the specialized knowledge that he brings to the Music Department at Carson Community Media and KNVC,” said General Manager, Steve Funk, “Our team is looking forward to working with Brad in his new position and it’s going to be fun, too!”

As Music Director he is in charge of auditing new music for airing, working with local musicians, and record companies.  He is also in charge of programming the automated music segments heard on the station.  “My first act as Music Director will be to revamp our Overnight music lineup.” said Brad, “We’ll soon move to a more modern music format. I think our night time audience will find it more popular and accessible.”

Brad has also supported the station by designing the website for KNVC.org and volunteering at various offsite promotion events. He feels that after the stagnation of our Covid days, this has become a most exciting time for KNVC. “We can always use more volunteers. We have DJ slots available and will train anyone interested in hosting a show.” Brad stated that,

“We also need volunteers to audit new music, curate and grow our library. Folks interested in volunteering at KNVC should go to KNVC.org and click on the Volunteer/Support header at the top of the page.”

In the coming month Brad Williams encourages all the night owls out there to drop in on 95.1 FM (streaming from knvc.org) and check out the new overnight music format.  The Team at KNVC would love to hear from local listeners about how they are doing.  “Besides needing volunteers, we can also use your donations!”
