A 63-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the area of Gordon Street and Fairview Drive Monday night for felony third DUI (drugs) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the arrest report, Nancy Albin was arrested after deputies were patrolling in the area of Woodside and Stanton Drive when they observed a car stop over the limit line at the stop sign. The reporting deputy began to follow the vehicle and witnessed it “veer left out of its designated lane.”
The deputy stopped the vehicle and made contact with Albin. The deputy said they immediately noticed Albin displaying signs of drug impairment, including having “extremely dilated” pupils that showed no reaction to light. Her mouth also reportedly appeared “chalky and dry,” which the report states is consistent with recent stimulant use such as methamphetamine.
Albin also did not have a valid driver’s license. She allowed deputies to search her vehicle, and they located a glass methamphetamine pipe with burnt residue inside her purse.
Albin agreed to speak to deputies and said she was not drunk but had smoked methamphetamine, though it was three days prior.
She also agreed to field sobriety tests, and according to the arrest report, she showed multiple signs of impairment. She was taken into custody, and her vehicle was towed.
A warrant was requested for blood testing, and she was transferred to the Carson City Jail without incident, where her blood was taken.
Bail: $20,000
Woman arrested for DAS conditions after drinking at the casino
A 30-year-old Carson City woman was arrested for violating DAS release conditions after deputies were called to check on a reported domestic dispute around 3 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the woman and a man walking on the corner of Lompa Lane and Modoc Ct.
The woman said they’d been in an argument, but nothing physical had occurred. She said they’d been at the casino drinking, and when they returned home, they began to get intimate, but she’d “started hearing voices in her head and freaking out.”
She told deputies she was on DAS supervision for disorderly conduct and that she’d been drinking, but refused to provide a preliminary breath test. Deputies noted she had red, watery eyes and some slurred speech.
DAS stated they wanted her placed on a hold for violating conditions, which include no consumption of alcohol.
On a search of her person, deputies located two small bottles of alcohol inside her purse.
She was taken into custody and transferred to the jail without incident.
Bail: $1,000 cash only
