The Carson City School District is reminding families of its upcoming early release (minimum day) schedule for the 2025-2026 school year, including one this week set for Wednesday, Aug. 27. Additionally, there will be no school Monday, Sept. 1, in observance of the Labor Day Holiday.
Early release days are designed to provide educators and staff with valuable professional development and collaboration time while students have the remainder of the day off. On designated minimum days, all schools in the district will dismiss students earlier than their regular schedules. If families normally pick up students after school, the Carson City School District invites them to be there promptly at the early dismissal times below.
- High School – 11:40 a.m.
- Middle School – 12:00 p.m.
- Elementary School – 12:40 p.m.
- Pre-K – 10:55 a.m.
Please visit the district’s calendar page and refer to the district’s 2025-2026 Academic Calendar to schedule or calendar these early release days as well as other holidays or non-school days. Early release days are circled and highlighted in orange. Holidays and non-school days are blocked in light blue and gray.
Families in Carson City are also invited to download the ParentSquare app and look for email messages regarding early release days and other school-related closures. Additional information can also be found on the district social media channels as well as local news media.
