According to NV Energy’s outage map, over 14,000 customers are without power throughout Douglas County Thursday.

The majority of these outages are attributed to “lightning,” while the rest are listed as “under investigation.”

Estimated times of restoration vary from 2 – 2:45 p.m. For specifics and updated information by outage, visit the outage map here.

In Carson City, as of 2 p.m. Thursday, the number is much smaller: only around 40 homes near Airport and Woodside are without power due to “underground equipment failure,” while a small handful are out due to “lightning.”

These are in addition to the widespread outages caused by wildfires throughout the region, bringing the total number of NV Energy customers without power to just over 15,775.
