Western Nevada College
CARSON CITY — Western Nevada College’s Community Education Department is now enrolling students for a variety of fall courses, including old favorites like Clay Club and brand new classes like Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. Community education classes are open to anyone in the Northern Nevada community and are designed to accommodate a variety of schedules and budgets.
Upcoming classes include:
— Imagine Understanding Your Medicare Insurance Options – Medicare parts A, B, C and D explained in detail.
— Computer Basics – Basic computer use skills, including Windows, internet and e-mail basics, vocabulary, mouse, keyboard, saving and printing skills.
— Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction – Approach your life with more composure, energy, understanding and enthusiasm and learn to manage chronic pain. Registration includes 8 two-hour sessions and an all day retreat.
— QuickBooks — Beginner, intermediate and advanced classes teach you how to use Quickbooks for your small business.
— Microsoft Word — Beginner, intermediate and advanced classes teach you how to make the most of Microsoft Word for personal or business use.
— Microsoft Excel — Beginner, intermediate and advanced classes teach you how to make the most of Microsoft Excel for personal or business use.
— Tai Chi – Explore the ancient Chinese art of “meditation in motion.”
— Clay Club Ceramics – Learn a variety of ceramics techniques, including wheel throwing and sculpting.
— Basic RiderCourse – Designed for beginning motorcycle riders, this course allows you to earn your M class endorsement and learn to be a safe rider.
— Advanced RiderCourse – Designed for experienced motorcycle riders, this course focuses on risk management and advanced techniques.
