A 45-year-old man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of domestic battery third offense, possession of a controlled substance and other offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.

Edward Sibr was taken into custody following an investigation. He was also booked for misdemeanor probation violation and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the report, deputies were dispatched for a domestic battery and met with the reporting party and victim. She stated her boyfriend, Edward Sibr, had been arguing and that he spat on her several times.

She stated he had recently relapsed and was smoking meth again and became aggressive with her and spat on her several times. She said she repeatedly asked him to leave. In one instance, he spat on her face and another time he spat on her chest and threw his meth pipe at her, but missed, the report states.

He then retrieved the pipe and began smoking it in front of her while inside their apartment. She stated she had an audio recording of the argument and played it for the deputy. The deputy noted they could clearly hear the woman ask him to leave the apartment, in which he refuses and spits on her. The recording was booked into evidence.

Deputies interviewed the suspect who stated he and the woman had been arguing. The deputy noted the man was unable to sit or stand still and displayed signs of being under the influence of drugs, with a tight clenched jaw and grinding teeth. Dispatch advised he was on formal Parole and Probation supervision. He was placed under arrest for domestic battery.

Deputies did a followup interview with the woman who reaffirmed the man was smoking meth in front of her in the apartment and gave consent to search the apartment. The deputy notes the apartment smelled of burnt chemicals. While conducting the search the deputy located two baggies with suspected methamphetamine. One bag was found in the kitchen trash can and the other found on the man’s nightstand drawer. Deputies located, above the bathroom medicine cabinet, a glass pipe with bulbous end that had burn marks and a thick coating of suspected meth, the report states.

Deputies did a followup interview with Sibr and read him his Miranda rights. He stated he understood his rights and wished to speak. He stated the woman had planted the drugs in his dresser draw and the drugs were actually hers, the report states.

The deputy noted that when they interviewed the woman, there were no signs of intoxication. While enroute to jail the man stated on his own free will that he only spat in the direction of the woman but never hit her. He then quickly stated he spat on the floor and did not hit her. He then stated she actually spit on him but did not provide details on or if where he was struck by spit, the report states. Bail: $15,000.

In other arrests:

— A 66-year-old Carson City man, Duane Fielder, was arrested Saturday for a felony second degree murder warrant issued April 9, 2025 by Nevada Parole and Probation.

According to the booking report, deputies were dispatch to the 1700 block of North Carson Street for an intoxicated subject. Dispatch advised the man approached another person and told him he wanted to be taken to Mallory Behavioral Health because he was intoxicated.

While en-route, dispatch advised the man had a confirmed warrant out of Parole and Probation for murder in the second degree with a no bail hold. The warrant was issued April 9, 2025.

Deputies arrived and located the suspect, who was sitting in a wheelchair and stated he was intoxicated. The deputy asked if he was willing to provide a breath test, and the man told the deputy yes. The PBT result was 0.19. While the deputy was speaking with the man, the man began having a seizure. At this time, deputies called for Carson City Fire Department.

The man was taken to Carson Tahoe Hospital where he was medically cleared. Due to the man being wheelchair bound, the Fire Department took the man to Carson City Jail where he was released to detention. Bail: No bail hold.

— A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report. Deputies were called at 8:05 p.m. to the 3200 block of Imperial Way for a domestic battery.

Deputies arrived and met the reporting party who stated her boyfriend had left the apartment. She said they were in the bedroom when he got angry and threw her phone to the ground and grabbed her by the wrist, dragging her on the ground to the kitchen area. She said she told him she was calling the police and he became more angry. While speaking with 911 dispatch, the man was heard yelling at her as he left the apartment.

Deputies observed damage to two walls and a door where the man either hit or head butted the wall/door. The woman also had scrapes on her arm and wrist from the man dragging her into a plastic bin in the kitchen area. Deputies took evidence photos.

As a deputy left the apartment to get paperwork, he returned and saw the woman on speaker phone with the man. The deputy asked to speak with the man and explained why he was speaking with him and asked that he return to the apartment, the report states.

The man agreed to return and speak with the deputy. He made multiple statements while on speaker phone stating that he “messed up,” the report states. Other deputies were in the area and the deputy asked the man to wait to meet with them.

The man met with another deputy who took him into custody for suspicion of domestic battery based on statement and physical evidence. Bail: $3,137.

— A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of DUI and basic speeding. According to the booking report, a deputy was on patrol in the area of East Fifth Street and observed a vehicle going at a high rate of speed, estimated 60 mph in a 30 mph zone. The deputy activated their radar and recorded a speed of 55 mph.

The deputy made a traffic stop in the 500 block of South Roop Street and contacted the driver. While speaking, the deputy could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver.

The deputy asked the man to step out of the vehicle to speak. He asked why he was speeding and the man stated he had left the bar and was arguing with his girlfriend on his phone about his drinking. The man was asked and consented to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests.

The deputy asked if he would submit to a preliminary breath test. He said no. At this time, he was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI, the report states. The deputy asked again if he could submit to a PBT and explained it would not change the decision. The man voluntarily submitted to a preliminary breath test of .180

At jail he agreed to provided an evidentiary breath sample, with results of .157 and .149. Bail: $1,137.

— A 35-year-old Reno man, Khan Christopher, was arrested Saturday in the 800 block of Retail Drive for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale and possession of more than 14 grams.

According to the booking report, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a white Jaguar with no license plates in the parking lot in the 800 block of College Parkway. The front passenger was contacted along with the driver. Both occupants were asked to step out of the vehicle. Khan later informed deputies on scene he was in possession of drugs.

During a search of his person and the vehicle, deputies found in excess of an ounce of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine and other drugs packaged for sales. The suspect was also in possession of currency and pay owe sheets documenting transactions and drug prices. He was mirandized and admitted to selling drugs to support his habit, the report states. Bail: $5,000.

— A 49-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of disorderly conduct. According to the booking report, deputies were called to a gas station in the 1000 block of North Carson Street. The reporting party stated that a man was highly intoxicated and had passed out in front of the store.

Deputies arrived and observed the man through prior law enforcement contacts, sleeping on the side of the building. The man woke up and asked who was there. He stated he didn’t have anything to drink but his speech was slurred and he kept attempting to get up but was off balance. He provided a preliminary breath test with a result of .215. The man was advised he was trespassed from the property and was booked for disorderly conduct. Bail: $637.

— A 34-year-old Carson City man, David Boyd Erspamer was arrested for a felony outside agency warrant issued August 22, 2023 out of Alpine County, California Superior Court. Bail: $2,500.

— A 37-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for suspicion off DUI, contempt of court, driving with a suspended registration and operating a vehicle with expired registration.

According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched to Hot Springs Road and Winnie Lane to assist with a suspected impaired driver.

Deputies made contact with him and noted he had bloodshot eyes and a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. He admitted to consuming alcohol approximately 30 minute early stating he had a 99 Proof and a Bud Light. The man consented to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests, the report states.

He submitted to a preliminary breath test with a result of .338. He was arrested and taken to Carson Tahoe hospital for medical clearance. At the hospital two vials of blood were collected. $1,137 plus $500 cash for the misdemeanor contempt of court warrant.

— A 55-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Monday, 12:04 a.m. for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.

— A 39-year-old Carson City woman was arrested at 1:44 a.m. Monday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.

— A 46-year-old Silver Springs man, Kenneth Barnard, was arrested Friday for suspicion of felony residential burglary and two misdemeanor counts battery.

According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched at 11:31 p.m. July 31 to the 1700 block of Empire Ranch Road for a report of a battery.

Deputies arrived and spoke with a man who advised his uncle and father were still inside the house as was Barnard, who was determined later to be the suspect. The suspect then walked out of the home. He was advised to stop and speak with a deputy.

Deputies made contact with the victim who stated their brother was calling him nonstop and that he observed the man slam the patio door open and closed and then punched them in the chest and face. He said the suspect then pushed past others and ran into a room where he jumped on his nephew sleeping and began pushing him around.

It was learned the suspect was not allowed inside the home and that he had removed a screen door while trying to get inside the patio door. The suspect, a relative, does not live at the residence but in Silver Springs, according to the report.

Deputies continued their investigation, and learned from the nephew that his uncle didn’t punch or hit him, but instead physically moved him around. He said he was able to get away from his uncle, who then ran into another bedroom.

Based on the man unlawfully entering the residence without permission and battering on two people, Barnard was booked for suspicion of residential burglary and two counts battery.

— A 46-year-old Carson City man was arrested August 1 for suspicion of Department of Alternative Sentencing violation and resisting arrest. Bail; $3,000 cash.
