The Tap Shack — The Music Mecca of Carson City — welcomes artists from Nashville and Los Angeles
Carson City, NV — The Tap Shack, widely recognized as The Music Mecca of Carson City, will host three nationally touring artists this week as part of its expanding Summer Stage Series, continuing to establish itself as a key destination for live music in Northern Nevada.
On Monday, July 28 at 6 p.m., Nashville-based Mose Wilson will perform with his full band in support of his latest album, That’s Love. Known for his blend of classic outlaw country and modern Americana, Wilson’s stop in Carson City is part of his national album release tour and offers a rare chance to catch the artist in an intimate setting before he heads to larger venues.
Later in the week, on Friday, August 1 at 7 p.m., The Tap Shack will host a free parking lot concert featuring two more national acts. Headliner Leslie Stevens, a celebrated singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, brings her retro-country sound and acclaimed songwriting to the outdoor stage. Stevens has performed with Lucinda Williams and Dwight Yoakam and continues to tour nationally to growing acclaim.
Special guest Tony Hannah, a rising artist from Nashville, will open the evening with a set that blends Southern storytelling and powerful vocals. Local food truck Apuna’s Hawaiian Kitchen will be on site starting at 6 p.m. for the Friday night event.
Sandra Owens, who co-owns The Tap Shack with her husband Walt Owens, says their mission has always been about more than just pouring drinks.
“Walt and I believe music is magic that brings people together,” Sandra Owens said. “We created The Tap Shack to be a space where that magic can happen night after night. Being known as The Music Mecca of Carson City is something we’re proud of—and we’re just getting started.”
