After much anticipation, popular Chinese fast food restaurant Panda Express opened for business Monday in Carson City at 2748 N. Carson St. Even before the official Carson City Chamber ribbon cutting ceremony, locals were lined up waiting to get their first orders at the new capital city location.
Among the customers, attendees at the ceremony included store managers, Carson City Chamber Director Ronni Hannaman, Carson City Mayor Lori Bagwell, Carson City Supervisor Stacey Giomi, Nevada State Assemblyman PK O’Neill and Jim Peckham, Executive Director of Carson City’s Friends in Service Helping, also known as FISH, which received a $1,000 donation from the restaurant as part of its opening.
Representing Panda Express included General Manager Ivan Terriquez, who was born and raised in Carson City and Area Manager Elizabeth Ramos.



There are nearly 70 Panda Express restaurants in Nevada, including one on Topsy Lane in nearby Douglas County. There are more than 2,400 restaurants nationally. The restaurant chain has been in operation since 1983 and is owned by Andrew and Peggy Cherng. The website is pandaexpress.com.
The restaurant, located at 2748 North Carson Street, is open daily; lobby hours are from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and drive-thru hours are 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
