The Salvation Army’s annual ‘Stuff the Bus’ campaign will be happening July 26 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Market Street Walmart in Carson City: 3200 Market St., Carson City, NV 89706.
Volunteers with The Salvation Army will be standing outside of the store asking shoppers to consider purchasing school supplies inside and donating them to be distributed to the community’s neediest children.
“We always appreciate this community’s support,” said Captain Ernie Evans, Carson City Corps Officer for The Salvation Army. “Sending children back to school with new school supplies is important. It prepares them to make the most of their learning environments when they return to the classroom, so we are looking forward to being able to collect these supplies and get them distributed prior to the start of the new year. Any donations of new school supplies will be appreciated.”
School supplies needed include backpacks, notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, hand sanitizer and more. Those who may want to donate outside of the designated Stuff the Bus hours are encouraged to call The Salvation Army’s Carson City Corps at 775-887-9120.
