The music was loud and lively Saturday night on the Minnesota Street Stage as Nashville’s Southern Drawl Band entertained a crowd of hundreds as headline act for this weekend’s Levitt-AMP concert series.

“They were the very first band I called when we got the (Levitt-AMP) grant,” said Brewer Arts Center Executive Director Gina Lopez Hill. “We wanted them here, and they drove all the way from Nashville.”

Southern Drawl is a country rock band that has played alongside some of the greats of country and rock music.

Their songs were so full of spunk and life that several couples converged in front of the stage to dance to the music.

The free art wall was also full of painted designs, too, as children and adults alike were inspired to express their creativity amidst the funky atmosphere of Southern Drawl Band.

There are two concerts remaining in the Levitt-AMP series. Whitney Myer takes to the Minnesota Street Stage on July 30 and Sambada’ follows for the final performance Aug. 6.

Levitt-AMP concerts, which are free to attend, start at 7 p.m. next to the Brewery Arts Center off King and Minnesota streets.

The public is allowed to bring their own picnics, blankets and lawn chairs to the concerts, which will have an open lawn and lot seating.
