Each year the Pay It Forward Project grants scholarships to students that make a positive difference in our community and in our schools. This year five scholarships were awarded to deserving students in the Carson City, Douglas County areas.
We wanted to congratulate the following students this year’s recipients. Carson High School, Vivi Mellow, Douglas High School, Samual Martinez, Whittell High School, Logan Robertson. This year’s scholarship recipients at Western Nevada College were Leah Turner and Sadie Jessie for their continuing education. We would like to congratulate all these students and encourage them to continue to make a positive difference through volunteerism as well as continuing to work hard in achieving their educational goals.
The Pay it Forward Project, a fund of the El Dorado Community Foundation, encourages volunteerism in our schools and in our communities. We have scholarships available in schools in the Carson City, Carson Valley areas as well at Western Nevada College this in addition to South Lake Tahoe for students with a background and commitment in volunteerism and building a better community and better schools.

We encourage community volunteerism and provide funds for community volunteer projects. We can all make a positive difference by just volunteering for a few of hours each month and thus meeting interesting likeminded people and building a better and stronger community.
