Two adults and a juvenile were arrested Saturday for alleged weapon and drug offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Following an investigation, CCSO Special Enforcement Team deputies arrested Santiago Rojas, 18, of Dayton for suspicion of felony possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number and gross misdemeanor minor in possession of a firearm.
The other adult male, Giovani Ventura, 18, was arrested for suspicion of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana being under 21 years of age, felony obtain/use of another ID to avoid prosecution and a felony parole hold.
A third suspect, a juvenile, was also arrested for felony firearm offenses.
According to the booking report, a CCSO Special Enforcement Team deputy on patrol observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on Nye Lane and Airport Road. As the vehicle approached the intersection, it failed to come to a complete stop behind the stop sign, with its two front tires passing onto the intersection. The vehicle then made a left turn onto Airport Road without using its left turn signal, the report states.
The deputy continued behind the vehicle and observed it approach the intersection of Airport Road and College Parkway. The vehicle again failed to come to a complete stop behind the posted limit line, with its two front tires passing onto the intersection. The vehicle made a left turn onto College Parkway without using its turn signal, the report states.
The deputy activated their emergency lights and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, which came to a stop and North Lompa Lane and Bryan Circle.
The deputy made contact with the juvenile driver and two adult passengers and advised the reason for the stop. The driver stated he did not have proof of insurance. The deputy observed the subjects to have multiple tattoos on their hands and arms. Based on the observations and knowledge of gang tattoos, the deputy asked all three subjects if they were associated or members of any gangs. Two stated they used to be members of a gang based out of Carson City. The other denied any affiliation with gangs, the report states.
The deputy conducted a records check on all three and issued the juvenile driver a citation for the traffic violation. A detective arrived to conduct an open-air sniff of the vehicle with his canine, Cash.
The deputy asked the juvenile driver to exit the vehicle and observed him wearing large baggy clothing that covered his belt line and a gray bandana hanging from his right back pocket. The deputy notes that some subjects wear this type of clothing to conceal weapons under their clothing and also has knowledge that gang members to have bandanas hanging from their pockets to represent the colors associated with their gangs, the report states.
Based on these, the deputy conducted a pat search on him for weapons and located a firearm inside his waistband on his right hip. The deputy took custody of the firearm, which was a loaded black Glock 27 handgun with 40mm ammunition. The deputy placed the juvenile in custody.
The K9 alerted positive on the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted. Deputies located the following items: A marijuana vape pen in the center console, an unspent 9mm ammunition round on the driver floorboard, a closed Twisted Tea alcoholic beverage, a marijuana vape pen in the passenger cup holder in reach of Ventura, a black handgun grip in the rear passenger door where Rojas-Amador was sitting and a blue firearm in a multi-colored bag in the rear passenger floorboard, within arms reach of Rojas-Amador.
The firearm was a loaded Taurus 9mm. When the deputy attempted to conduct a records check on the firearm, they observed the serial number had been sanded off and removed. He was placed into custody for possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number and possession of a firearm by a minor due to the firearm located in the rear passenger floorboard, which was within arm’s reach of Rojas-Amador.
Ventura was also placed into custody for possession of marijuana under 21 years of age, for the marijuana vape pen located in the passenger cupholder that was within arm’s reach. He provided a false name and birthday to the deputy, who later learned that the man was 18. He was also booked for suspicion of felony use another person’s identification to avoid prosecution. Juvenile probation was notified and requested a felony hold be placed on suspect Ventura.
During the arrest of the individuals, Rojas-Amador was in possession of $501.49. At the time, he was not able to provide evidence that he was currently employed, the report states. Based on the totality of these individuals being in possession of two firearms, one with an obliterated serial number making them untraceable, themselves admitting to being associated with a gang and wearing gang color indicia, and also in possession of marijuana being under age, the money was seized.
Bail for Rojas-Amador, $10,000 for Ventura, $10,000.

— A 27-year-old Carson City man, Homar Medina Garcia, was arrested Sunday for suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon and gross misdemeanor aiming a firearm (BB gun) at a person.
According to the booking report, deputies were called at 12:09 a.m. for a report of shots fired in the 1400 block of College Parkway.
Deputies were advised the suspect vehicle and the driver, who was wearing a cowboy hat, was heading north on College Parkway approaching Nye Lane. The deputy located the suspect vehicle and activated their lights at Sherman Lane and Century Circle.
Based on the call for service of shots fired, the deputy made a high risk stop and drew their deputy pistol at the vehicle and gave verbal commands to all occupants to place their hands out the window. The deputy ordered the driver to remove the keys and drop them out of the window. The deputy waited for other deputies to arrive before ordering the occupants out of the vehicle and placing them in handcuffs.
Deputies read Garcia his Miranda rights. The man, who was wearing a cowboy hat, said he understood his rights and agreed to speak. The deputy explained the reason for the stop.
Garcia stated he did not know what the deputy was talking about. The deputy explained there was a 911 call that stated a person pointed a black handgun out of a white truck and fired one shot and then waved the gun out of the driver’s side door. The deputy explained to him the caller said it was a white truck and the driver was wearing a cowboy hat, the report states.
The suspect said he was with his girlfriend at a bar playing pool and left the bar, driving north on North Carson Street and then turned east on College Parkway. He said he was not involved in the shooting of any guns.
The deputy spoke with the man’s girlfriend who was the front seat passenger. She stated the man was driving and pointed a BB gun out of the window at another car that was driving too close to them around the area of a gas station and convenience store in the 1400 block of College Parkway.
The deputy spoke with the man again and he confessed to pointing his BB gun (a black Glock-style BB gun) at another car that he said was following too close. He said he did not shoot the BB gun.
Another deputy went to speak with the victims, who both stated they were driving behind a white truck and saw the driver wave a gun out of the driver’s side front window. They said they heard one shot fired from the gun and then saw the driver waving the gun at them as they got closer to the vehicle, the report states.
The suspect admitted to having a BB gun in the center console of the truck and gave verbal consent to search the truck. The truck was searched and a black Glock-style BB gun was found in the center console. They BB had a C02 cartridge loaded with 17 copper-colored BBs, the report states.
Based on the witness statements and the man’s confession, he was arrested for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and aiming a firearm at another person. Bail: $15,000.
— A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and obstructing. According to the booking report, deputies were called to a Lone Mountain Drive apartment for a report of an unwanted subject. Dispatched advised the tenant’s ex-boyfriend was in the apartment and refused to leave.
Deputies arrived and spoke with the reporting party, and observed a male leaving the apartment. Deputies spoke with the man, who said “no” when deputies asked to speak with him and said “no” when the deputies attempted to ask him questions. There was a language barrier. Then he turned away from the deputy and attempted to walk back up the stairs toward the apartment. The deputy grabbed his wrist where the man pulled away. He was told he couldn’t leave, the report states.
The man then pushed away from the deputy and tried to go up the stairs. The deputy grabbed his arm and lifted him down the stairs to avoid a possible fight on the stairs. The man continued to resist and was arrested and taken to the patrol car. While he was in the patrol vehicle he told a CCSO sergeant that he dropped a bag of white powder that was in his right sock and he used his left foot to pull down his right sock, dropping the bag of suspected cocaine onto the floorboard. Bail: $2,500.
— A 73-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Monday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.
— A Carson City woman was arrested Sunday for a misdemeanor warrant issued July 17, 2025 out of Carson City Justice Court for alleged domestic battery. Bail: $3,000.
— A 32-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery and a Department of Alternative Sentencing violation.
According to the booking report, deputies were called 7:30 p.m. to a Damon Road residence for domestic battery. Deputies arrived and met with the reporting party who advised he was hit by his spouse in the face. He advised they had an argument on the way back from a fast food restaurant and said the argument started when she was upset she had to pay $45 for the bill.
The husband advised the woman hit him in the face on two different occasions while driving back home. He advised she hit him the first time in the face while arguing about the food order being wrong, hitting him in the face with the back left hand. He advised the second time she hit him in the face was at a stop sign by the house, hitting him straight on the face with her right hand. Out of reaction, he advised he hit her with his right hand in a back handed motion and advised tension elevation when he told her that she was using him and he is the only one that pays the bills, the report states.
Deputies spoke with the woman who advised there was an argument during the ride back from the restaurant due to the fact there was no sour cream. She advised the man was upset due to the sour cream. She sent went through the drive through window again in order to get the order right. She advised the man was upset at the fact that there was no sour cream and mentioned there was no way there was $45 worth of food.
She advised items were missing in the bag and that she wanted to go back inside to get the rest of the missing order. She advised the argument continued due to the food order mess up and said that when they arrived home she threw down the drink from the restaurant because she was upset. At this point she advised there was no physical contact between him and her.
Deputies spoke with the man again to clarify the situation due to the fact they were unable to get a clear story from the woman. The man advised again after being hit at the stop sign, that is when he back backhanded her out of reaction, the report states.
The deputy spoke with the woman again, who advised nothing physical happened even after telling her the man said he backhanded her during the argument. She then admitted he backhanded her in the face but advised she was fine, the report states.
At one point in the conversation, she advised that after she threw down the drink that he may have hit the drink out of her hands. At this point, the woman’s testimony made no sense to the deputy. The deputy asked her if she hit the man in the face. She denied it. The woman was distraught about the situation and began to cry and called her mother to pick up the kids.
Deputies took photos of the woman’s right hand where there was a reddish mark near the inner knuckles and a scratch that looked fresh on the top of her left hand. She advised she had two alcoholic beverages earlier in the day. She consented to a preliminary breath test of .174. She was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. Deputies were advised she is on DAS with conditions. Bail: $3,000.
— A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested July 19 for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license. Bail: $2,500.
— A 41-year-old Carson City man was arrested July 19 for possession of a controlled substance, DUI and driving without a license. According to the booking report, a deputy was driving and observed a vehicle stopped for a few seconds near a construction zone and made a southbound turn onto Fall Street.
The vehicle was driving southbound in the northbound lane of the roadway. As the vehicle approached John Street, it did not stop behind the limit line at the stop sign, and then turned westbound, crossing over the double yellow solid lines. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contacted the driver, who who showed objective signs of alcohol intoxication, the report states.
Deputies on scene located a bag of suspected cocaine in his pocket. A field sobriety test was attempted. Due to his level of intoxication, he was unable to complete it. He was arrested and provided evidentiary breath tests of .144 and .155. He was booked for possession of a controlled substance and DUI. Bail: $2,500.
— A man was arrested July 19 in the area of Airport Road and Highway 50 East for suspicion of DUI. According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched for a possible intoxicated driver. The suspect vehicle was located and a traffic stop was made.
The deputy could immediately smell an odor of alcohol coming from the man and observed he had red, watery eyes and disheveled clothing. He admitted that he had a drink the night before. He agreed to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests. He agreed to a preliminary breath test, with a result of .114. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI. At jail he provided evidentiary breath tests with two results of .077. Bail: $1,137.
— 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested July 18, 10:50 p.m. for suspicion of gross misdemeanor open or gross lewdness.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called to Carson Tahoe Hospital and spoke with the reporting party, a nurse, who stated she was in a patient’s room collecting labs when the man reached over and touched her buttocks.
The deputy told the nurse he would speak with the man. The deputy read the man his Miranda rights to which he stated he understood and agreed to speak. While speaking, the man admitted to touching the nurse’s buttocks, saying he leaned over and touched her buttocks while she was working on the computer next to the hospital bed, the report states.
The deputy asked why he did that and he stated it was just a fun thing to do at the time. He also stated he thought it was a flirty thing, but noticed she didn’t take it that way so he acted as if he hadn’t done it. The deputy asked if he wanted to write an apology letter, to which he wrote on a statement form.
While talking to the nurse, the deputy informed her the man confessed to touching her buttocks and told her the man said he thought it was funny and did it in a flirty way. The deputy asked what she thought about the situation and how she felt.
She informed the deputy she felt gross, traumatized and frightened, stating it brought up memories from prior events in her life that she wished never happened and thought would never happen again, the report states.
The deputy informed the man he was under arrest once he was medically cleared from the hospital by staff. Once the doctors cleared the man, he was placed into cuffs, taken to jail and booked for suspicion of open or gross lewdness. Bail: $2,137.
— A 35-year-old man was arrested July 19, 2:14 a.m. for suspicion of gross misdemeanor unlawful use of an emergency phone number. According to the booking report, The man was intoxicated and made multiple calls to 911 where he called and screamed and disconnected. A four-deputy response was made on the first report, where deputies arrived. The man was inside the apartment and yelling that he didn’t want any help.
On the second call at around 2:04 a.m. the man called emergency services advising deputies to come arrest him. Deputies went to the location and spoke through man’s window to his apartment advising it was the sheriff’s office, the report states.
A short time later he exited the apartment and was highly intoxicated. He immediately advised deputies that he hated them and wouldn’t speak. Due to his behavior a third deputy was called with an expedited response. Deputies were able to calm him down. He was arrested for unlawful use of an emergency phone number, was taken to the hospital for medical clearance due to his intoxication and then to jail. Bail: $2,500.
— A 43-year-old Carson City woman was arrested July 18 for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance possession of drug paraphernalia and a misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence warrant. Bail: $2,500 bond and $1,000 cash for the warrant.
— A 38-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested July 18 for suspicion of gross misdemeanor unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.
According to the booking report, at approximately 9:44 a.m. a deputy was sent to the area of I-580 northbound at Fairview overpass in reference to a vehicle that had lost control and collided with the center median.
On arrival, it was clear the vehicle had left the scene of the accident as NDOT staff was on scene picking up debris from the collision. It was clear that a vehicle had collided with the center median cables and there was damage to the area, the report states. Nevada State Police was also informed of the crash due to the location of the incident.
After speaking with NDOT crew members, they advised the vehicle was a white Ford F-250 with a large metal brush guard on the front bumper. The NDOT crew claimed the driver was a man and they saw him leave the accident scene and proceed east on Fairview. The deputy attempted to located the vehicle but was unsuccessful.
At around 10:06 a.m., 22 minutes after the listed call, dispatch advised they had received a separate call for service. The reporting party called 911 and claimed a white Ford F-250 had just struck the rear of her parked vehicle and said the driver was still on scene.
Deputies arrived and met with the driver of the suspect vehicle. He claimed that he had gotten distracted trying to look for his cell phone in the vehicle when he lost control and rear-ended the victim vehicle, the report states. The deputy asked the man about the accident on the freeway, which he initially said he had no knowledge of. The vehicle he was driving was an identical match to the description from the NDOT crew earlier. The vehicle also had damage to the front end consistent with both crashes. The vehicle was parked in the 5000 block of Hells Bells.
The deputy then asked him again about the freeway incident. He then changed his story saying he was the person who crashed earlier and left the scene because his license was suspended. This was verified via dispatch. He said he was not intoxicated and the deputy did not see any outward signs of intoxication.
After further investigation, it was learned from the vehicle owner, who was on vacation, said the vehicle he crashed was not his vehicle. She said she had let the man drive her vehicles until he crashed in separate car in the past, at which point she informed him he was no longer allowed to drive any of her vehicles.
The man then admitted to knowingly taking the vehicle even though she had said he was not allowed. He was arrested and booked for suspicion of unlawful taking of a vehicle. Bail: $2,500.
