The Carson City School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Chelsea Borowski as the new vice principal at Bordewich Bray Elementary School.
With nine fulfilling years teaching and two years in administration in Humboldt County, Borowski is eager to bring her leadership experience to Carson City. She most recently served as the principal (2024-2023) and assistant principal (2023-2024) at Winnemucca Grammar School.
Prior to administrative efforts, Borowski was a fourth-grade teacher (2018-2023) at Sonoma Heights Elementary. She was a fifth-grade, third-grade, Physical Education, Kindergarten, first-grade summer school and substitute teacher (2013-2018) for Humboldt County School District.
Borowski also served as the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) school-level lead, district coach and member of the district MTSS Leadership Team (2017-2025) for Humboldt County School District.
She earned a master’s in educational leadership (2022) from Arkansas State University, an alternative route licensure (2018) from Great Basin College and a bachelor’s in Cross-Cultural Studies from Baptist University of Florida.
Borowski also attended the Harvard Graduate School of Excellence Leadership Development for Principals (2024), is a LETRS Science of Reading Certified facilitator and an Open Platform Speaker for the APBS National Conference (2025). She is also an instrument-rated pilot and advanced ground instructor bringing a passion for teaching and exposing students to aviation opportunities and career fields.
Borowski will replace Dr. Carolyn Cook, who retired as vice principal at Bordewich Bray earlier this year.
