“July Jazz” is an evening of big-band music by the Mile High Jazz Band with singer Jakki Ford on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Gina’s Good Life Music & Lounge, 507 N. Carson Street inside the Carson Nugget. Admission is free, requested donation is $10.
The 17-member band will play old favorites and swinging, big-band selections, including “Magic Flea,” “When I Fall in Love,” and “Good Bye, Pork Pie Hat.” Jakki Ford will sing “Peel Me a Grape,” “Almost Like Being in Love,” “Summer Wind,” and other great tunes with the band. The band will be ably directed by drummer Larry Widener, a retired school band director and all around generally nice guy, while leader/pianist David Bugli is taking a little vacation.
Mile High Jazz Band performances and educational activities are supported in part by grants from the Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts, Carson City, and by memberships and donations.
