The Box Store, Capitol Auto & Diesel and Carson City Florist have all joined the Walk About William Street. Hosting the event is Carson City’s Community and Economic Development in partnership with more than 25 local businesses.

The event runs until July 20, 2026, and is intended to showcase the businesses on William St.

Each participating business has provided a question that can be answered only by visiting the business.  Questions provided by the three newly added businesses will be considered “bonus questions.”

E. William reopens after closure due to ongoing Complete Streets project

The community is encouraged to visit all participating businesses.  Participants who answer every question will be entered into a drawing to win prizes, and those who answer the bonus questions will be entered into the drawing twice.

The completed questionnaires can be emailed to Planning@carsoncity.gov, or dropped off at the Community and Economic Development Department, located at 108 E. Proctor Street, Monday – Friday between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Construction of the East William Street Complete Streets project commenced in summer 2025 and will conclude in fall 2026.  The 1.4-mile project will incorporate elements of Complete Streets, improved traffic signals, conversion of overhead utilities to underground, and upgrades to water, sewer and storm drain utilities.
