Planes will take to the skies through 4 p.m. The event is free and guests can can participate in interactive activities and magnificent displays the open house offers.

The event began with a pancake breakfast provided by the Experimental Aircraft Association, followed by an opening ceremony featuring a CAP Color Guard, the national anthem, the Beech Boys Formation Flyers and the American Flag Sky Dive Jump.

Activities throughout the event feature interactive displays, flybys, plane and helicopter demonstrations, robotics demonstrations, food and beverages, bounce house and many more family activities.

The Carson City Airport open house is to raise community awareness of the importance of aviation and aerospace for Carson City and Nevada’s economy. The economic impact of the airport to the local community is estimated at over $30 million annually. Additionally, every year the event educates and encourages young people to consider careers in the areas of robotics, aviation and aerospace.

The Carson City Airport is used regularly for aviation aircrafts, corporate aircrafts, and flight operations including: fire-fighting operations, air ambulance medical flights, and Law Enforcement. The airport also offers support for flight schools, air charter services, aircraft sales, aircraft fueling and aircraft maintenance services.
