The Nevada Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) is pleased to announce that thirty-two graduates, from 17 Nevada agencies, accepted their peace officers’ oath as POST Academy Class 2025-01.
The graduation ceremony highlighted Former Senator and Director of Conservation and Natural Recourses, James Settelmeyer, as the keynote speaker along with POST Executive Director, Michael Sherlock. Academy Commander Dan Nolan administered the peace officers’ oath for all 32 graduates.
The ceremony was held on Thursday, May 22 at Life Church in Carson City. The Category I POST Academy is 725 hours of intensive peace officer training over 18 weeks.

The Nevada Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) is the regulatory agency for law enforcement training throughout the state and is responsible for the certification of the over 11,000 peace officers serving in 136 criminal justice agencies in the state.
