  • The RTI Flex Ramp Competition was quite the test for hummers, jeeps and trucks.

Hosted by Shoe Tree Brewing Company, the second annual Rock Crawlers and Brew Fest was a wheel-turning craze Saturday at the Fuji Park fairgrounds in Carson City.

Several types of hummers, jeeps and big-tired trucks tested their flexibility and balance in the RTI Flex Ramp Competition. Owners had the choice of placing their vehicles on a wood balancing beam for 10 seconds, or measuring how high their wheels would fit up a tall and steep ramp in each rig.

Along with the RTI Flex Ramp Competition, the event included a Show and Shine contest. Trophies were rewarded for vehicles with the Most Flex as well as Best in Show, Best Beater, Best Street Legal 4×4 and a people’s choice nomination.

Raffle were also available featuring prizes such as a giftcard to Summit Sportsman’s Warehouse, NAPA, various exciting games and swag bags full of items.

Food by Bus Boy Mobile Gonuts 4 Donuts, shaved ice by Kona Ice and cold beers on tap by several vendors kept attendees and participants cool on a warm 75-degree summer day.

The Rock Crawlers and Brew Fest will continue until 6 p.m. For more information on the family-friendly event, click here or visit their Facebook page here.
