Traffic lanes will be reduced on U.S. 50 in Mound House Thursday, May 15 as the Nevada Department of Transportation performs a routine bridge inspection.

Single lane reductions will take place on U.S. 50 in Mound House May 15 between 8am-3pm for routine inspection of the V&T Railroad overpass over the highway. Lane reductions will primarily take place on the eastbound highway in the morning, and the westbound highway in the afternoon.

•  Drivers should expect moderate travel delays, and are advised to leave extra travel time.

•  The work schedule is subject to change based on weather and other factors.

The lane reductions are for the bridges’ federally-mandated routine inspections. The railroad overpass bridge was last inspected in 2023, and was found to be in good condition.

NDOT performs routine inspections on Nevada bridges, including railroad bridges crossing over roadways, every two years. In fact, NDOT’s dedicated bridge inspection and rehabilitation program has helped Nevada bridges to be named the nation’s best for the eighth consecutive year.
