Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash involving a single vehicle on a dirt road near Mound House just north of Carson City that was discovered Thursday morning.
Sheriff spokesman Michael Carlson told Carson Now and MyNews4.com FOX 11 that dispatch received a call at 8:26 a.m. of a vehicle that had crashed on a rural dirt road near Cygnet Drive. When deputies arrived they found a dead person in the vehicle.
Carlson says they are not releasing the name of the person or if it is a man or woman until the victim’s family is notified.
He says the body is not that of 60-year-old Toni Davis who has been missing since April 28. Rumors had been circulating on social media Thursday that it may have been the missing woman, in which authorities believe foul play may be involved in her disappearance.
