If you think rock stars can’t be softies, you haven’t met Larz. This black-and-white gentleman may share a name with the drummer of Metallica, but his instrument of choice is the warm, rhythmic purr of a cat who just wants to be near his people.
At 12 years old, Larz is the definition of easygoing. He’s friendly, curious, and has perfected the art of being social without being overbearing. His favorite pastime is to shadow his human throughout the house, then curl up in their lap or cuddle beside them.
One of Larz’s most charming features is his curly tail, a perfect little spiral. According to the vet, it’s likely the result of some tight quarters in utero, forming that way simply because things got a little squished. It doesn’t cause him any trouble, but it definitely makes him unforgettable and even more adorable.
Larz came to Catmandu after a tough life change. His human had to move in with people who are allergic to cats. Yet this seasoned sweetie has taken it in stride. He’s comfortable with people of all ages, and while he’s fine with calm adult animals, he has no interest in being pounced on by pesky kittens. Loud crinkly noises (looking at you, trash bags) make him a little nervous, but otherwise he’s brave, confident, and ready to be your home’s rock of love.
Larz is a senior cat, but his health is solid. He’s neutered, vaccinated, and fully litter trained. He is available for adoption or long-term foster through our Senior-to-Senior foster program.
This program places senior citizens (55+) with senior cats in a long-term foster situation. The cat remains with their senior for the rest of their life; however, if something should happen to the person, the cat returns to Catmandu.
We also help with medical care through nutrition, homeopathy and vet care through All Creatures Mobile Vet Hospital. It’s a win for both the senior and the cat.
Larz is looking for a quiet, loving home where he can cozy up to his new best friend and purr them a soft tune. If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly companion with a whole lot of character, Larz is ready to settle into your heart. Come meet Larz this weekend at Catmandu. We are open for adoptions Friday – Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm at 1829 Brown Street.
