ComputerCorps “Every Home ‘A’ Classroom” Summer TechCamp 2K26 is now open for registration, giving students ages 9 to 15 the chance to learn about computer recycling, testing, assembly, operation, security and best practices.
For more than 25 years, ComputerCorps has offered the summer camp program where students work hands-on with computer systems and take home their own computer at the end of camp.
There are three separate two-week TechCamp sessions, each held at ComputerCorps, 4630 US Highway 50 East in Carson City.
TechCamp Alpha runs June 15 through June 26. TechCamp Bravo runs July 6 through July 17. TechCamp Charlie runs July 27 through Aug. 7.
Each camp is held Monday through Friday from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Space is limited to 16 students per camp.
Registration is $490 for the two-week camp and includes a computer system, camp shirt and hat, graduation ceremony and what ComputerCorps describes as “a lifetime of learning.” Friday graduation is held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
According to ComputerCorps, students will configure, test, set up and take home their own basic computer system, which includes Microsoft Windows 11 Pro and an Office Suite. Camp activities also include learning, meeting new friends, games, awards, snacks and fun.
Some partial scholarships are available for families in need.
ComputerCorps is an internationally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing access to computer technology and skills training for underserved families while eliminating eScrap in landfills.
Volunteers are also needed for counselors and team leaders.
