A 36-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday for three counts suspected felony child abuse and neglect following an investigation by a School Resource Officer that led to a search warrant of a Corbett Street residence, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Carson Now is withholding the suspect’s name to protect the identity of the victims, ages 17, 16 and 7.
Officers with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team conducted a search warrant at the residence after a School Resource Officer advised she had been conducting an investigation into the residence for child abuse and neglect.
While on scene at the residence, deputies learned the suspect is the mother of three juveniles who lived in the residence. A SET deputy conducted a brief search of the residence and observed it to be extremely dirty and severely neglected, the report states.
The suspect was advised of her Miranda rights. She stated she understood and wished to speak. A deputy asked where the 7-year-old sleeps in the house. She initially stated that they sleep on the floor in the living room. Upon further questioning she admitted the 7-year-old sleeps with her in the second bedroom. She explained that both she and the 7-year-old share the bed in the room, the report states.
Throughout the interview with the woman, who deputies noted that she was being dishonest, she initially stating the 7-year-old stays with her on and off and stays with her grandmother half the time, the report states. The grandmother was asked how frequently the child stays with her. She stated the last time was approximately two months ago and that the child primarily lives with the mother, according to the report.
The mother was asked to be honest. She then stated the 7-year-old stays full-time with her and stays with the grandmother on occasion. She stated the 17-year-old and 16-year-old spend half the time at the residence.
During the search of the residence, deputies noticed an immediate and overwhelming odor of cat urine that permeated the entire residence. The floors were in poor condition with areas of exposed subfloor visible throughout. Portions of the floor were sticky to the touch and damp. Officers also noticed multiple cats and reptile cages throughout the residence, the report states.
Deputies noticed trash was piled throughout the residence in multiple areas, in some places reaching significant heights, limiting safe movement within the home. There were numerous flies inside, with fly strips hanging and heavily covered in insects, the report states.
There was rotten and moldy food visible in various locations. The deputy observed old food items on the stove that were moldy and appeared days old. The deputy located only one bathroom in the residence, which had severe black mold across the ceiling. The toilet in the bathroom was not secure and jiggled and moved. The bathroom sink was full of dirty water and did not appear to work. The fridge had little to no edible food, with most of it old or moldy. There was a pizza box inside the refrigerator dating back to January, the report states.
During a search of the mother and 7-year-old’s room deputies located a bag full of numerous marijuana items (dab pens, marijuana concentrates) on the bed where the child and mother sleeps. The deputy noticed the mother was ashing her cigarettes in a cup in the bed, which is a fire hazard.
The bed appeared to be queen-size however half of the bed was covered approximately 2 feet high with garbage and multiple items belonging to the the 7-year-old scattered throughout the bedroom. Detectives later located a backpack from the mother’s room which contained a clear zip-lock bag containing suspected psilocybin mushrooms.
In the same bag, the deputy located school paper work belonging to the 7-year-old. A Carson City evidence tech took custody of the mushrooms and later booked them into evidence.
The mother was asked about who the suspected psilocybin mushrooms belonged to. She initially stated they belonged to her ex-boyfriend but later admitted they were hers. She explained she got them while she was in Reno at a party approximately 4 months ago. She admitted to smoking cigarettes in the bedroom, even if the 7-year-old is in bed with her because she said “she’s lazy,” the report states.
Due to the totality of circumstances, the mother was arrested for three counts suspected child abuse and neglect and possession of a controlled substance. Child Protective Services was on scene and released the 7-year-old and 17-year-old to their grandmother. The 16-year-old was released to her grandparents. Bail: $40,000.

A 47-year-old Carson City woman, Jaime Eastman, was arrested April 29 for suspicion of gross misdemeanor abuse of an older/vulnerable person, unlawful use of 911 and misdemeanor domestic battery against an older person.
According to the booking report, deputies were called at 5:56 p.m. to the 3500 block of Northgate for a 911 call. Dispatch advised the reporting party informed them she would only call 911 when she needs CCSO assistance. She stated that her mother was not helping her and she was getting progressively more upset.
The caller was identified as Eastman, who was later determined to be the suspect. Deputies arrived and met with Eastman who advised she only wanted to tell CCSO she was OK for now and would call would she needed CCSO.
The deputy asked her what her emergency was. She stated she would call CCSO when she needs them. She then attempted to go back into the residence, the report states.
Due to the woman attempting to go back into the residence, a deputy informed her she was under arrest for misuse of 911. The woman at first complied and then dropped to the floor, refusing to cooperate. She was taken to the hospital, stating she had multiple issues with her back and shoulders, the report states.
As she was being taken to the hospital, deputies spoke with her mother, who stated that Eastman had battered her. The mother stated her daughter held her down on the bed by her shoulders and grabbed her arms. She further stated that the daughter knocked over her television and television stand, which ended up striking her right foot. The deputy observed the mother’s right foot appearing green with purple color on it. Most of her foot had a large abrasion. She also had a cut on it from the stand striking her. The deputy also observed her left forearm and observed two bruises on it that coincided with her being grabbed by her arm, the report states.
The daughter refused medical care at the hospital and was taken to jail and booked for alleged gross misdemeanor abuse of and older/vulnerable person, unlawful use of using an emergency telephone number and misdemeanor domestic battery of a victim being and older person. Bail: $8,411.
— A Carson City man was arrested April 29 for a misdemeanor probation violation warrant. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 51-year-old Carson City woman was arrested April 29 by the Department of Alternative Sentencing for misdemeanor contempt of court. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 39-year-old Carson City woman was arrested April 29 for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery. According to the booking report, deputies were called to an address in the 2600 block of East Nye for an unknown problem.
Deputies arrived and met with the victim who said he and his girlfriend had gotten into an argument where she threw a pan at him. The deputy noticed the victim had a small cut on the lower portion of his right bicep and redness and swelling on his left forearm. The victim said the two got into an argument because she did not want to watch him eat inside their residence. The man said walked outside and began eating, when he said his girlfriend began yelling at him and telling him to leave. He said she then threw several items at him, but missed and then shoved him and grabbed him by the arms and clawed him, according to the report.
The deputy interviewed the suspect, who said she shoved the man and that he smacked her in the face. The woman was determined to be the primary aggressor and was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. Shen was taken to jail where the deputy notes that while en route she changed her story and claims multiple times about the events that took place and claimed she was royalty. Bail: $3,137.
— A 31-year-old Fallon man was arrested April 29 for a misdemeanor contempt of court issued Feb. 28, 2026 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $10,000 cash.
— A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested April 29 for possession of a controlled substance and making a false statement to obstruct a public officer.
During a vehicle stop for expired registration, the woman became verbally aggressive, was highly agitated and sweating profusely. Due her being aggressive, deputies attempted to detain her. The woman resisted commands. Deputies placed her in handcuffs and put her into the back of a patrol vehicle.
A deputy attempted to calm the woman down several times. She was taken into custody and jail, where she kicked the back of the patrol vehicle and continued screaming. At jail she was highly uncooperative. During the jail intake search, deputies located a small clear plastic jar on the woman’s person, which contained suspected methamphetamine. Bail: $2,500.
— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested April 29 for a misdemeanor warrant. Bail: $500.
