A Cruise Night to benefit the the family of Alexis, Colton and David Melendrez, who died in a car accident in Mound House — will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday night, April 29, in Carson City, reports KOLO TV Channel 8 Reno. The benefit cruise is to raise money to help defray the costs associated with funerals and medical expenses.
The father and his children died as a result of an accident on Friday on Highway 50 in Mound House. David Melendrez, 30, died at the scene of the accident. Daughter Alexis, 8, died on Saturday and Colton, 3, died on Wednesday.
The Cruise, hosted by the Carson City Deputy Sheriff’s Association, begins at 5 p.m. at the Sonic Drive-In at 1856 College Parkway. The cost is a $10 donation. A raffle will be held and prizes are being sought.
For those unable to make the event, cash donations are being accepted through a Alexis and Colton Melendrez memorial fund established through Heritage Bank. The account number is 2000008744 and donations can be made at all branches.
