A Carson Now reader reported today that the Mother Goose at Fritsch Elementary School successfully hatched her second clutch of eggs and is now the proud mama of three goslings!

The nest was rebuilt after her first was destroyed by a district employee, who was consequently under an investigation about its destruction — both a state and federal crime — by the Nevada Department of Wildlife.

We have reached out to them about an update on the investigation and will update when we hear back.

In the meantime, the reader said that while they are still awaiting the results of the investigation and what recourse is taken for the initial nest’s destruction, they also “thought it would be encouraging and uplifting for people to know that Momma goose didn’t give up!”
