Historically, the Carson City Farmers Market has taken place every Saturday during the warmer months within the 3rd Street Parking lot off of Curry Street.

However, last year the 3rd Street lot underwent major renovations, forcing the market to move to the parking lot behind the Carson Nugget off of Stewart Street.

While it provided new challenges, it also provided more space to grow, and after a successful year at the new location, the market has decided to stay.

“Carson Farmers Market has grown tremendously over the past 13 years and downtown has grown and evolved a lot over the past few years,” said Market Manager Breana Coons. “The Stewart Street location makes it much easier for our vendors to access (the market), we were able to bring in more vendors and also vendors that we wouldn’t have been able to have at the 3rd Street location due to space limitations. Last year we were able to bring in more vendors and will have room to continue to grow.”

According to Coons, feedback from both vendors and patrons was positive, with most of them praising the parking situation and ease of getting in and out and enjoying more variety in their products.

The market season runs every Saturday from June 4 through Oct 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
