A 34-year-old man was arrested Friday for suspicion of felony eluding with endangerment, possession of a controlled substance and other offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.

Joshua Frederick Holmboe was taken into custody following a vehicle pursuit with deputies. He was also booked for the following misdemeanor offenses: possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving, obstructing and resisting, no registration and a warrant for failure to comply.

According to the booking report, a deputy with Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team observed a vehicle without visible registration. The officer activated his overhead lights. The vehicle pulled into the right lane as if it was about to pull over and then accelerated north on Saliman Road.

As the officer approached Saliman and Fifth Street, there wasn’t traffic on the road but the driver was going over 70 mph in a 35 mph zone. As the vehicle approached Saliman and Robinson, several cars were in the north and southbound lane. Due to the driver’s excessive speeding, 85 mph in a 25 mph zone, the officer turned off their lights and siren and terminated the pursuit.

The deputy advised dispatch. As the officer was on the radio advising dispatch, he observed the vehicle’s headlights turn off and swerve into oncoming traffic and then turned onto Sealy Loop, and then entered Mills Park, the report states.

Another officer driving south of Saliman observed the driver turn off its headlights going into oncoming traffic, putting two vehicles and a deputy at risk. The driver got out of the vehicle at Mills Park and ran south through the park by the picnic tables. Deputies located the suspect on a roof where he had jumped between several roofs before being taken into custody, the report states.

While processing the vehicle, deputies located a pipe with suspected methamphetamine, a silver lid with black residue and a yellow cap for a hypodermic device. Bail: $20,000.

— A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of gross misdemeanor destruction of property, multiple misdemeanor hit and run offenses, second DUI and other offenses.

At around 2:33 a.m. deputies were dispatched for a report of a vehicle that ran into a residence and caused damage. The reporting party advised that the vehicle left the scene and drove southbound. A second reporting party called and advised the vehicle had crashed into two vehicles.

Through the course of the investigation, the driver’s identity was confirmed and that he had been seen at a bar drinking earlier. He was located at his residence, where deputies detained him due to the man being slightly uncooperative. He was read his Miranda warning where he advised he did not want to speak. Officers observed the man to have marks on his face that appeared to be from the accident.

While waiting for paramedics, deputies were advised that a homeowner had video surveillance from the accident, which confirmed the identity of the man. He was arrested. At jail a deputy contacted the on-call district attorney and applied for a warrant for to draw blood from the man. The warrant was granted. Total bail amounted listed: $9,140.

— A 21-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday of a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued March 22, 2023 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.

— A 61-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday for a misdemeanor violation of a temporary protection order warrant issued by Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $2,500.

— A 59-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Sunday for being an intoxicated person in possession of a firearm.

According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched for a report of a patron brandishing a firearm. Security at the bar confirmed there had been an argument and a gun was shown. The man provided a preliminary breath test of .367. He was taken to the hospital for medical clearance. At jail the man provided evidentiary blood rests with results of .220 and .226. Bail: $1,137.

— A 63-year-old Carson City man, Russell Nixon, was arrested Sunday, 9:35 p.m. for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $6,137.

— A 33-year-old Reno woman, Christine Ann Caparra, was arrested early Monday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $3,637.

— A 19-year-old man was arrested early Monday for suspicion of DUI, reckless driving, no insurance, unregistered vehicle and minor consuming. Total bail amount listed: $3,115.
