On March 19, 2026, at approximately 10:48 p.m., the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a 911 call reporting that a subject had been shot at a residence in the 400 block of Sheepcamp Road in Dayton.
Western Command patrol deputies responded to the scene and located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound in the roadway.
Deputies immediately initiated life-saving measures until personnel from Central Lyon Fire arrived and assumed medical care.
Battle Born Medevac also responded to assist with emergency treatment.
Despite these efforts, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.
One subject was taken into custody at the scene.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division has responded and is actively investigating this incident.
At this time, there is no known threat to the public.
