Carson City, Nev. (March 20, 2025)  The Carson City School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Gina Hoppe as the new principal at Eagle Valley Middle School.

Hoppe will continue to serve as vice principal at Fritsch Elementary through the remainder of the school year and then assume her new role at Eagle Valley officially beginning July 1, 2025.

Having done an administrative internship at Eagle Valley while earning her master’s degree, Hoppe will bring some familiarity to the school.

Prior to her appointment as principal, Hoppe served the school district as vice principal at Fritsch Elementary School (2020-2025).

She was also a second, third, fourth and fifth-grade teacher (2008-2020) at Empire and Fritsch Elementary Schools in Carson City. She earned a Bachelor’s (2003) and her teaching credentials (2007) from San Diego State University in San Diego, Calif. before earning her Master’s (2019) in Educational Leadership from the University of Nevada, Reno through the Nevada Leads Program.

Ms. Hoppe was also named Teacher of the Year at Fritsch Elementary School in 2019 and received the “Light of Education” award in 2015.

She is also GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) and TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) endorsed.

Hoppe will replace Dr. Lee Conley, who will retire at the conclusion of the school year. Dr. Conley has been principal at Eagle Valley Middle School for the past 15 years. He was also previously a principal at Seeliger Elementary (2005-2010); vice principal at Empire Elementary (2001-2005); summer school administrator at Empire Elementary (2001-2005); substitute administrator for Bordewich Bray Elementary, Empire Elementary and Seeliger Elementary (1999-2001); fourth and fifth-grade teacher at Mark Twain Elementary (1995-2000) and a physical education P.E. teacher at Empire Elementary (1994-1995). He earned a Bachelor’s (1993) in elementary education from the University of Wyoming before earning his Master’s in Educational Leadership and Administration (2000) and Doctorate of Education (2019) from the University of Nevada, Reno.
