Thanks to an incredible outpouring of community support, the Carson City Chamber of Commerce Leadership Institute Class of 2025 is making significant strides in rebuilding the Carson High School stadium gates — a project aimed at fostering school spirit, improving visitor experience and bringing the structures up to code.

With over $100,000 in in-kind donations — a combination of materials and skilled labor — and nearly $30,000 in financial contributions, the project is well on its way to completion. However, to fully fund the final elements, including security window shutters and a new flagpole, an additional $10,000 is still needed.

Demolition has begun and the project is underway. Help us cross the finish line.

Why This Project Matters

For years, the stadium’s entrance has been in physical and visual disrepair, failing to reflect the school spirit, tradition, and unity that Carson High embodies.

According to leadership project participant Cecilia Rice, “The structures were in [a] physical and visual state of disrepair. The project will bring the structures up to code as well as improve the overall experience for all who visit Carson High School events.”

She said it is also a testament to the power of the Carson City community.

“[The project will] foster Carson High pride by creating a gate that is a lasting symbol of unity and tradition while elevating the experience for students, athletes, and visitors at Carson High events,” she said. “It showcases the strength of community collaborations.”

The redesigned entrance will not only be a symbol of school spirit but will also enhance the experience for students, athletes, and visitors at CHS events.

The 3D design draft of the ticket booth

Carson High students have shared their excitement about the transformation:

“This new ticket booth will literally be the gateway to so many athletic events at Carson High. Seeing the Chamber Leadership Class take the lead on this embodies the school spirit our city retains and symbolizes how much our school and community support us as athletes.” — Anne Davis, Senior Track Athlete

“The colors of the school feel more lively. The old entry is falling apart, and an updated look will make me feel proud. Parents will appreciate it too.”
— Sophia Morrison, Senior Softball Player

“It feels more collegiate — less like a high school. The new design and matching colors bring life to the stadium. It’s less depressing and more exciting.” — Angel Vega, No. 13, Boys Soccer

“I feel like I’m part of something bigger. More than my team, I feel I represent my school.” — Kael Walt, No. 6, Boys Soccer
